Cruise Port Amsterdam is working hard to build a smart energy hub measuring 31 x 12 x 6 metres so that cruise ships at the quay do not have to use their generators, but run on shore power. This leads to less CO2 emissions and better air quality. On Friday 16 February, Cruise Port Amsterdam received a visit from deputy Esther Rommel and Klaas-Jeroen Terwal to show that work on the construction of shore power is in full swing. Cruise Port Amsterdam’s ambition is to become one of the most sustainable cruise terminals in Europe. Shore power will be ready by 2025.
